Colchester Creative’s Neurodiversity and Creativity in Colchester workshop and social held at the end of January highlighted the need for quiet space for those involved in creating performance to hold rehearsals, play readings, workshops or the like to help take their project forward.
Having listened to the comments made that evening, The Headgate Theatre, supported by Colchester City Council’s Cultural fund, is making space available in their ground floor Rehearsal Room to individuals or local groups involving those with neurodiverse conditions or physical disability to help progress local initiatives. There will be no charge for the use of the space, which will be available during the period May – December 2025, subject to availability – which is mainly day time or weekends. Â
The hours available are limited, and will be allocated to an individual/group for a maximum of 10-12 hours per applicant.
