Mai (Mairead) Ladyman – Headgate Theatre Box Office Assistant

Mai is a familiar face at the Headgate Theatre. Before officially joining in July 2022, she first graced its stage in HTP’s production of Bedroom Farce in July 2019 and has since performed with other local theatre groups.

Originally from Benbecula, a small island in the Outer Hebrides, Mai takes great pride in her diverse background. She trained in Musical Theatre at the University of the West of Scotland (formerly Stow College) and gained valuable experience performing and casting for TV, film, and theatre in Luxembourg.

Mai then advanced her studies with an MA from the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting in London. During her time there, she studied the works of Yat Malmgren and had the privilege of being taught by Christopher Fettes, which further enriched her craft and led to various performances in London.

While acting has always been her primary passion, Mai’s interests extend to the video game and TTRPG industries in which she has involvement. She believes that her varied interests and experiences enhance her ability to think on her feet, a skill she often brings to her work at the theatre.
