ACT V
Mondays 10.15am–1pm (term time only)
Act V have been meeting now for 25 years – and get involved in all things theatre! Our weekly sessions at the Headgate run on Monday mornings from 10.15am- 1pm in our friendly, supportive environment, and are open to those aged 50+ (or thereabouts!). There is no membership requirement and sessions can be booked individually or for a half term.
The activities within the sessions vary and might be as diverse as working on a presentation of excerpts from Under Milk Wood to creating short movement pieces based on the theme from a play or musical; from working on extracts from the musical Come From Away to thinking about how props and costume help to develop a character.
All sessions are interactive with some group work and some working in pairs, and are led by experienced theatre practitioners. Our practitioners encourage members of the group every step of the way and create a friendly, supportive atmosphere so that everyone feels comfortable – even when trying out something new. The overall aim for the group is to have some fun, whilst enjoying the company of others and keeping the brain active!
Each session will run for the full morning and includes your choice of teas or coffee and biscuits. Break-times are always lively, and a place where new friendships are made! Activities involving creative participation are a wonderful way to create a feeling of achievement.
All places must be booked in advance via our “Whats On” page.
