Colchester Fringe 2025
Once again, the Headgate Theatre will be at the very heart of the Colchester Fringe Festival — acting as the main venue and hub of operations for this bold, vibrant celebration of performance in all its forms. Across ten exhilarating days, dozens of shows will fill our spaces with comedy, theatre, music, dance, spoken word, and plenty that defies easy description!
Expect daring new work, laugh-out-loud moments, and thought-provoking performances from artists across the UK and around the world — alongside many familiar faces from the Headgate’s own community of performers and creatives. With events in both our Main Auditorium and Rehearsal Room, there’s something different happening almost every hour, every day. The Fringe is the perfect opportunity to take a risk — to see something unexpected, experimental or outside your usual comfort zone. You might just discover your new favourite performer or art form!
Founded in 2021, the Colchester Fringe Festival has quickly become a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar, showcasing under-represented voices and offering low-cost tickets to make the arts accessible to everyone. At the Headgate, we’re proud to support that mission — and to welcome audiences and artists to our friendly bar and theatre spaces throughout the festival.
