On Friday Sept 9th, the North Essex Theatre Guild (NETG) Awards night took place at the Princes Theatre in Clacton. The Guild is dedicated to helping amateur theatre in North Essex and runs an adjudication service for over 30 amateur groups in the area.
Headgate Theatre Productions were represented in many of the categories, reflecting the amazing range and fantastic quality of our ‘home productions’. And there was much to celebrate!! Here is a list of all the worthy award winners. MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM ALL!!
Best director: Wendy Smith for Mosquitoes
Best Actress: Jackie Grant for Titus Andronicus
Best Supporting Actress: Elly Kent in The Diary of Anne Frank and Still Life
Best Young Actor: George Deadman and Rowan Donaldson in Titus Andronicus
Best Young Actress: Eva Balding in The Diary of Anne Frank
Adjudicators Award: Dawn King and Richard Bland for the creation of Headgate Young Company and the performances of the cast in Blue Stockings
Front of House Award: Paul T. Davies production of Two presented under COVID restrictions
Technical Award: Martin Rayner, David Gilhooley and Liz Fossey for lighting and sound in Anne Frank/Still Life/Titus Andronicus
Costume Award: Judith Peeling and team for Still Life and Titus Andronicus
