October 2021: The First Colchester Fringe Festival – 21st to 24th October 2021.

The first Colchester Fringe Festival will take place over four days this weekend – 21st – 24th October 2021.

The aim is to support work by local emerging artists, whilst attracting performance companies to the town from across the U.K and overseas.

Performances will be presented in a variety of venues within the town centre. In addition to two spaces in the Headgate Theatre there will be extraordinary performances in shops, pubs and nightclubs.
The organisers believe that the Fringe is for everyone. Therefore, they are committed to using 100% accessible venues,
keeping ticket prices low and promoting under-represented voices, including LGBTQ+, BAME and disabled
people within the programme and festival team.

This is a non-profit festival and any money made will be put towards supporting artists and developing the Fringe for future years.

The opening productions of the festival take place at the Headgate on Thursday evening starting with an offering from Headgate Young Company and Stagewrite Productions in the main house and some Dance and Radio Plays in the theatre’s Rehearsal Rooms
