“The Force Awakens”

Professor Ben Allanach’s free fun talk is about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the mysterious Higgs boson particle and the creation of the universe. Ben is a theoretical physicist from the University of Cambridge and a representative of CERN, the European Centre for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland, where Ben works with the Large Hadron Collider.

His visit to Colchester is prompted by Headgate Theatre Productions’ upcoming drama, “Mosquitoes”, in the Headgate Theatre 15-18 June 2022, which is set against the backdrop of the LHC, the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator.
