Each hiring is underpinned by a contract, which is in two parts. The summary document which you sign contains the charges , dates, bank account details etc.
In signing this, you also agree to the terms and conditions of hire, which are known as Schedule 1 of the Hire Contract, and it is important that you read this document carefully, as it sets out the obligations of both parties to the contract.
It is the responsibility of each hirer to establish whether their production, or individuals within it should be covered by a licence from Essex County Council. The theatre has its own Safeguarding Policy, which is available on request, and a summary of information for hirers is available here.
This document shows the dimensions of the auditorium, and can be accessed here.
The theatre has rostra that can be used in different configurations. For details of this please contact 01206 530257. The hirer is responsible for putting up and dismantling the rostra if used, under supervision.
Hirers are responsible for providing their own sound and light technicians, and anyone new to the theatre is required to meet or talk with one of the nominated theatre technical leads. Any arrangement that might be set up with someone familiar with the theatre system is a private arrangement between individuals, and not part of the theatre’s obligations.
